Affordable and flexible holiday in Tuscany is possible

As summer holiday costs continue to rise in Türkiye, WTS’s San Gimignano-based Tuscany tour stands out with prices starting from 799 euros. The package, which includes 5 nights of accommodation and car rental, offers travelers the freedom to create their own route instead of following a fixed group tour program.

Affordable and flexible holiday in Tuscany is possible

As hotels, dining and daily holiday expenses in Türkiye’s popular Aegean and Mediterranean destinations require higher budgets each season, international travel alternatives are becoming more attractive. WTS’s San Gimignano tour in Italy’s Tuscany region has emerged as one of the notable options with its price advantage and flexible travel model. Starting from 799 euros, the package brings together Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul to Bologna, 5 nights of accommodation at selected hotels and 5 days of car rental, allowing travelers to explore Tuscany without being tied to a fixed schedule.

San Gimignano at the heart of the Tuscany route

WTS’s San Gimignano Tuscany Tour is designed around one of the region’s most impressive medieval towns.

Located between Siena and Florence, among the hills of Val d’Elsa, San Gimignano is considered one of Tuscany’s most characteristic stops with its stone towers, historic squares, walled old town and vineyard views.

The town once had more than 70 towers, 14 of which still stand today. This distinctive skyline has earned San Gimignano the nickname “the Manhattan of the Middle Ages.”

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, the historic center is one of Tuscany’s most photographed routes with Piazza della Cisterna, Piazza del Duomo, the Collegiata church and the 54-meter Torre Grossa.

Freedom to plan your own time

WTS’s program differs from classic group tours with its flexible structure. Instead of being tied to a tour bus and fixed departure times, travelers can explore the region by rental car. This means they can walk among the towers of San Gimignano in the morning, drive to Volterra in the afternoon, follow Renaissance traces in Florence on another day and plan dinner among the vineyards of Chianti in the evening. This model turns the trip from a simple checklist of places to see into a personal Tuscany experience.

Four accommodation options from 799 euros

The San Gimignano tour offers different hotel alternatives for 5 nights of accommodation. The starting price at B&B Panizzi, including a standard room and breakfast, begins from 799 euros per person. The classic room option at Cappuccina Country Resort, including breakfast, starts from 899 euros. A standard room at Agriturismo Il Casolare di Bucciano starts from 999 euros, while accommodation in a standard room with breakfast at Relais Santa Chiara Hotel by Double Hospitality starts from 1,099 euros.

The package also includes economy-class manual car rental, such as a Peugeot 208, Opel Astra or similar vehicle.

Hotel and car rental prices may vary depending on demand. Alternative room and vehicle categories can also be arranged.

What to see in San Gimignano

The heart of San Gimignano beats around the triangular Piazza della Cisterna and the nearby Piazza del Duomo.

The narrow stone streets, arched passages and towers of the historic center preserve the town’s medieval atmosphere. Visitors who climb Torre Grossa can enjoy views of Tuscany’s hills and vineyards from a height of 54 meters.

The 14th-century frescoes covering the inner walls of the Collegiata church reflect the town’s artistic heritage.

For travelers looking for a quieter route, the city walls, small squares and surrounding viewpoints offer powerful scenery, especially at sunset.

What to eat and drink

One of the first flavors associated with San Gimignano is Vernaccia white wine.

The town is known as one of Italy’s first DOC-certified wine regions. Vernaccia di San Gimignano stands out on Tuscany tables, especially on summer evenings, with its light fruity structure and mineral character.

On the food side, strong examples of Tuscan cuisine come to the fore. Pici pasta, bruschetta, ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, finocchiona, local cheeses and olive oil tastings are among the region’s classic flavors.

In the trattorias and vineyard houses around San Gimignano, simple but powerful Tuscan cuisine is served with local wines.

Music and wine events throughout summer

San Gimignano comes alive in the summer not only with its historic texture but also with its cultural and musical programs.

During the travel period, visitors may have the chance to attend events such as San Gimignano Musica, open-air opera and ballet performances, Degusta in Jazz, Baroque Music Nights, Aperitivo in Musica, Concerti in Vernaccia and the Teatro dei Leggieri summer program.

Jazz, classical music, wine tastings and sunset concerts give the town a special atmosphere in the evening hours. Event dates may be updated by organizing institutions.

Day trips: Florence, Siena, Volterra and Chianti

One of the strongest advantages of the car rental program is the opportunity to explore San Gimignano together with other key Tuscany destinations.

Florence can be visited as the capital of Renaissance art. Siena offers a strong alternative with its historic square and Gothic architecture. Volterra appeals to travelers looking for a quieter route with its Etruscan heritage and stone streets.

The Chianti vineyard roads are also one of the most enjoyable additions to the program for those who want to experience Tuscany’s wine culture on site.

What is included in the package?

WTS’s San Gimignano Tuscany Tour includes round-trip Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul to Bologna, 5 nights of accommodation at the selected hotel, breakfasts specified in the program, 5 days of car rental, airport taxes and hotel/environmental taxes.

International departure tax, visa fees, mandatory city taxes paid at hotels and personal expenses are not included in the package.
