Santorini and Mykonos set the price image of the country, but the islands where a holiday still costs what a holiday should cost sit one ferry further out. On those islands a realistic budget in 2026 runs about 55 to 90 euros per person per day, against a general Greek budget range of 50 to 80 euros for travellers staying in dorms and eating at tavernas.

Value lists for 2026 repeatedly name the same group: Naxos, Andros, Tinos, Kythnos, Serifos, Ikaria, Kalymnos, Leros, Limnos and Skyros. Within the Cyclades specifically, the cheaper end is made up of Serifos, Kimolos, Iraklia, Schinoussa, Sikinos and the Small Cyclades islands of Koufonisia and Donousa. What these places share is not poverty of scenery but absence of an airport with direct international traffic.
