Characterized by its originality, refined aesthetic taste and its values regarding usefulness and decorativeness, the Cuban craftwork has good acceptance in the Fair of Paris, where it has been present for a decade without a break.
According to Prensa Latina, Cultural Asset Fund Representative Rosa Maria Jorge highlighted that participation of Cuban artisans in this kind of events is important to promote market their handicrafts, as well as to exchange experiences.
The official explained that besides the Cuban International Fair, the artists also go to similar events in Mexico, Italy, Farance and other countries.
Wherever they have exhibited their handicrafts, the Cuban craftwork has been especially attractive, due to its creativity and variety, she said.
The Cuban guayabera, a typical shirt, was among the goods in greatest demand, and also knittings and crochets, necklaces made of seeds and other products made of wood, leather and metals.
A total of 11 artisans are participating in this event, and they have planned to extend the offer next year, with other artistic expressions, said the official.
