Five classical music concerts are part of the program of celebrations organized by the Japanese Embassy in Cuba.
Celebrations organized by the Japanese Embassy in Cuba to mark the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first samurai, Hasekura Tsunenaga to these lands and the start of the friendly ties.
According to a press release issued here, renowned Cuban and Japanese artists will perform, including the well known director Yoshikazu Fukumura and pianist Frank Fernandez, in charge of the first concert with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba (OSNC).
In the last two decades Fukumura established a strong friendly, professional and artistic relationship with Fernandez and the OSNC, hence the invitation to open this program, to be held during next June.
As part of the celebrations, the Japanese maestro will visit Matanzas, where he will share the stage with the Symphony Orchestra of that city and two leading Japanese opera singers: Nami Kobayashi (soprano) and Hiroshi Watanabe (tenor).
For the occasion, the public will enjoy a varied and attractive repertoire that includes Japanese operas.
During this celebration the Cuban public will have the opportunity to enjoy again of the performance of the young and talented violinist Ryu Goto, who will play a concert of Beethoven with the Youth Orchestra of the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory.

Fukumura will also direct the Ensemble Soloist of Havana in its two presentations, while four prominent Japanese guitarists (Kiyoshi Shomura, Daisuke Suzuki, Soichi Muraji and Shunsuke Matsuo) will close the series of commemorative concerts.
