As the temperatures warm up in Paris, here are the terraces you absolutely need to know this summer.

Newcomers or institutions, an overview of the most pleasant terraces where you can come and enjoy the first rays of the summer sun.

Mimosa

Inaugurated last fall, Mimosa is the restaurant of Elodie and Jean-François Piège in the heart of the Hôtel de la Marine in Paris. Created alongside the Moma Group (already in charge of Lapérouse, La Fontaine de Gaillon, Café Lapérouse, Manko, La Gare, Noto…), the place is inspired by the joyful atmosphere of the Riviera and its sunny recipes . New for the summer, it has a bonus terrace adorned with azure-striped benches. On the menu? A Niçoise salad, small stuffed Mediterranean vegetables or pasta with lobster.

Ralph’s

Tucked away in one of the prettiest interior courtyards on the Left Bank, the Ralph’s terrace brings together soft benches and wrought iron furniture surrounded by greenery. Swarming with US specialties, the menu combines burgers (with veggie option), a Caesar salad in the rules of the art, grilled lobster, New York style steaks… But also an anthology of gourmet desserts. Not to mention a new summer cocktail menu.

L’Hôtel Particulier

The smallest and most chic of the Parisian hotels, led by Oscar Comtet, has a charming terrace. Climbed with greenery and dressed in lanterns, it lives to the rhythm of the day. From lunch to dinner, where you can taste the great classics of French cuisine (sole in the rules of the art, carpaccio of scallops, etc.), including tea time and aperitivo. Most? The petanque court close by.

Drouant

A Parisian institution with stainless charm, Drouant is gaining a beautiful terrace this summer. Surrounded by shrubs and beautiful plants, it allows you to enjoy the sun, from breakfast to dinner, while enjoying a menu that celebrates French cuisine and the seasons (asparagus risotto, old-fashioned tomato salad, oysters fresh, lobster roll or truffle toast). All accompanied by fine wines from the abundant cellars of the Gardinier dynasty. Most? It is possible to book even for a drink.

Girafe

At the heart of the Cité de l’Architecture, Girafe is the work of the duo of Gilles Malafosse and Laurent Gourcuff, with interior designer Joseph Dirand on the decoration side. In a spirit of the 1930s, visitors enter a cozy decor, bringing together cream benches, a marble bar, tropical plants, original pilasters… Opening onto a terrace with a devastating view facing the Eiffel Tower. In the kitchen? Chef Benoît Dargère takes the helm. Seahouse style, fish, shellfish and crustaceans are worked there in all their forms. From the most classic: in ultra-fresh platters, in raw version: in the form of ceviche, carpaccio and other sashimi, but also skillfully gilded (lobster, sole, turbot…), evolving according to arrivals.

Racines

With its decor halfway between the Parisian bistro of yesteryear and the Italian trattoria, Racines has taken up residence in one of the prettiest passages in Paris. With a few tables outside, the menu, an ode to fashionable transalpine cuisine, is created by Simone Tondo. Among the essentials? Impeccably made fresh pasta, a vitello tonnato or a crispy milanese.

La Cour Jardin du Plaza Athénée

It’s hard to get more iconic than the famous Cour Jardin at the Plaza Athénée. Immortalized many times on screen (notably during the last Parisian episodes of the Sex & the City series), this beautiful ivy-climbed terrace offers an almost bucolic break from the hustle and bustle of Avenue Montaigne. In the program? A new menu created by Jean Imbert which celebrates summer with roasted tomatoes, langoustine salad and grilled fish.

L’Hôtel Grand Amour

After the Hotel Amour rue Navarin, André Saraiva le Grand Amour, rue de la Fidélité in Paris. Within the walls of a pre-Haussmannian building, the hotel has everything to do with an opulent Parisian house, twisted with arty influences, dear to the universe of the French graffiti artist. On the ground floor, the restaurant, whose decoration is inspired by La Coupole, is one of the essential Parisian spots after dark.

Lazzi

At the foot of the Edouard VII Theatre, Lazzi is Régis Campana’s new restaurant (already behind II Ristorante and Veramente in Paris). An ode to Italian cuisine and good local produce, you can taste organic burrata, vitello tonatto or spaghetti prepared straight from the wheel of parmesan cheese. Most? The possibility of seeing a play before or after dinner.

BB

Located on the first floor of the most beautiful sports club in Paris, the BB restaurant was entirely designed by the Toro & Liautard agency in a dapper art deco spirit with its life-size brass palm trees, period mirrors and colorful sofas. cognac, streaked with wild prints. Hot spot this summer, its terrace offers a new menu, with a perfect egg, a Thai salad or even a sea bass carpaccio with coconut, avocado and lime.

Bambini

Led by the duo Laurent de Gourcuff, founder of the Paris Society group (MUN, Girafe, etc.) and Romain Taieb, behind Le Piaf, Bambini is the new solar terrace at the Palais de Tokyo. Immersing its visitors in a cheerful Italian atmosphere, the place relies on warm decor and a menu in a spirit of sharing aperitivo style. In the program? Arancini, a plump burrata, polpettes, fine charcuterie, focaccias, carpaccios… But also and above all pastas in the rules of the art and Neapolitan-style pizzas with well puffed edges. While at the bar, the great Italian classics are carefully revisited (Bellini with Negroni, Amaretto Sour, Spritz with homemade bitters and syrups…).

Bambou

A well-known address for Thai cuisine enthusiasts, Bambou had expanded before confinement. In addition to its restaurant facing a beautiful green courtyard, the place gained a cocktail bar and two new lounges tastefully decorated by Clémence and Clément Goutal. Turned towards Thailand, visitors will find well-chilled cocktails and small tapas. Another novelty is a take away, called Little Bambou, which offers curry, steamed bread or shrimp skewers with Thai basil.

Apicius

To celebrate the arrival of summer, Apicius is reopening its terrace, inaugurated in 2019. Set in the heart of its verdant garden, decorated with light garlands of contemporary furniture, this new Parisian hot spot offers cocktails and fine wines on the menu. to sip at aperitif time, nibble plates, while listening to music. Most? You can also discover the gourmet brunch menu of chef Mathieu Pacaud.

CoCo

After Loulou a stone’s throw from the Louvre Museum, Apicius rue d’Artois or Girafe one-on-one with the Eiffel Tower, the Paris Society group unveils CoCo. A restaurant that could just as easily be on a beach in Miami, where giant palm trees and climbing vegetation grow between the pendant lamps and the velvety banquettes. Decorated by Corinne Sachot, this Art Deco temple relies on a simple and effective menu: heirloom tomatoes and artisanal burrata; green asparagus, gilthead sea bream tartare, creamy linguine with roasted blue lobster, Mediterranean sea bass, free-range poultry… To be enjoyed on the superb terrace at the foot of the Opéra Garnier.

ANDIA

A true Parisian institution, La Gare had a facelift in 2019 and became ANDIA this summer. With on the one hand a new decor, even more vegetal, which completes the one created by the interior designer Laura Gonzalez equipped with floral fabrics Pierre Frey, earthenware suspensions signed Béatrice Markovitch or a series of frescoes painted by the artist Claire de Quenetain. And on the other hand with a new menu that celebrates Andean recipes: ceviche, expertly spiced grilled meat, exotic fruit pavolva… New spot that proves that the 16th arrondissement never stops innovating, there is above all a superb tree-lined terrace where you can easily imagine enjoying the first rays of summer.
