Swissotel, part of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI), has launched the Swissôtel Hotel University, with the aim of being among the top five hotel universities worldwide.
Speaking exclusively to Hotelier Middle East, Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul general manager and regional vice president Turkey and Eastern Europe Gerhard Struger said: “We will start the first academic year of the university this year in Istanbul with 25 students. As of next year, we will open up internationally.
“The courses are held in English and they’re targeting Turkey, Central Asian republics, Russia, China, India and the Middle East. The aim is that within 10 years it is in the top five hotel universities in the world.”
Struger added that as well as helping with lectures, Swissôtel would be able to offer students and graduates preferred places and top opportunities within the company.
