Denmark’s capital city of Copenhagen has opened its first ramp to snowboarding and freestyle skiing.
The ramp opened on December 18 with a competition and a show as well as the evening stands on ski party.
“This is the first snowboard ramp built in Copenhagen. There is a battleship box and a sea box and a flat down rail. It is placed in a public park and everybody can just come, ride,” said event manager Rasmus Lolholt.
People enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the ramp while they can also have something to eat, such as grills.
Lolholt went on to say that the idea came from the skating arena ice-skating, to scrape up the snow and put it on the snowboard ramp to the rails.
“You are going to ride here until March, so come check it out,” he added.
The ramp will be open until 26 February 2011.
