The Australian tourist who was hurt in a bungy jump near Hanmer Springs is still in Christchurch Hospital.
The woman was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries after the accident at Thrillseekers Bungy near Hanmer.
“We opted to shut the operation down as soon as it happened of course and the investigation we’re expecting will be concluded within a day or two,” says Blair Hartland, of Thrillseekers Adventures.

It’s believed the woman slipped from the harness after her foot strap became loose on the second recoil, sending her plummeting six meters into the shallow water below.
The woman, who is thought to be in her 30’s, was rescued from the icy water and flown to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.
