About 3 038 000 Bulgarians traveled in abroad in the first seven months of the year, chairwoman of the State Agency for Tourism Anelya Krushkova said at the second single-line business exchange forum on SPA and Wellness – Bulspa 2009 in Golden Sands resort, cited by FOCUS News Agency .
Aneliya Krushkova added that there is 9.7 % drop compared to the same period last year. Most of Bulgarians – 61% preferred traveling to EU member states, as German takes the most preferred destination. Turkey is on the top of list of preferred states outside the EU.
“Bulgaria has splendid opportunities for the development of SPA and Wellness industry”, Anelya Krushkova said further. In her words the 8000 mineral springs in Bulgaria are fresh stimulus for the development of that kind of tourism, which gives additional potential.
