Norwegian Airlines Opens up New Routes

Norwegian AirlinesWell it seems that the recession is not keeping everyone down. Norwegian Airlines has just announced that it will be starting up a series of new routes from Scandinavia to popular holiday destinations in Europe.

These new routes will become available next spring. However, the new routes will be on sale starting today, October 16.

One place, Malta, will be a new destination from both Copenhagne and Oslo. Norwegian Airlines is also opening new routes from Copenhagen to Sardinia, Zsagreb, and Dubrovnik. Some other routes that will be established at the end of March and the beginning of April will be new routes from Stockholm to Athens and Palermo.

The Commercial Director at Norwegian Airlines, Daniel Skjeldam, said that both Northern Norway and Western Norway have very strong tourism areas. Thus, direct routes to these areas will just help to strengthen tourist traffic in both regions. He went on to say that they are experiencing some very strong expansions in the holiday and leisure market in all of Scandinavia. The new direct routes from Copenhagen and Stockholm are both new next summer. The airline believes that these new destinations will be well received in Sweden and Denmark, as well as Norway.

Daniel Skjeldam went on to say that they are focusing a lot of what they are doing from what customers have had to say. A lot of the new destinations from Scandinavia are a result of the demand that they have experienced from that area. The airline has established a very popular destination at reasonable prices, and this has really increased the amount of people that are flying with them to these areas.
