With Podgorica, the number of foreign destinations Turkish Airlines flies to increased to 126.
Turkey’s national air carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), will begin direct flights from Istanbul to Montenegro’s city of Podgorica as of Thursday, July 8.
THY flights to and from Podgorica will take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Tickets for the Istanbul-Podgorica trip (two-way) costs around 212 euros.

Based in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines is one of the fastest growing and prosperous airlines in the world. It carries approximately 25 million passengers a year, with direct flights to 126 international and 37 domestic destinations.
The airline was founded in 1933 with a fleet of five airplanes that carried a total of 28 passengers. The airline made its first domestic flight in 1933 and the first international flight in 1947.
THY posted 387 million Euro of profit in 2009, becoming the top five airline companies following Air China and Ryan Air in the world that recorded the highest profit in 2009.
THY’s passengers were up 26 percent when compared with the same period of 2009 and reached 6.2 million.
The airliner carried 4.9 million passengers in the first quarter of 2009. The number of business class and transit passengers in international lines was up 32 and 37 percent respectively in the mentioned period.
