Bournemouth Popularity to rise in Summer 2010

Bournemouth’s popularity has risen in the Easter holiday period compared to last year making tourism bosses very hopeful for summer 2010.

Initial reports by tourism agencies have confirmed that the large coastal resort town’s tourist numbers has risen by 10% compared to 2009 in the same period.

The director of tourism for Bournemouth Borough Council, Mark Smith, said “The Easter weekend was one of the best the town has had for a long time, we’re expecting lots of people to holiday in the UK again this year”.

Some of the reasons behind the rising numbers are due to the recession as British tourists are preferring to take their holidays within Britian due to the rising costs in foreign countries.

Tourism bosses are also very happy with advanced bookings this year in Bournemouth hotels.

There has also been a large number of younger visitors to the the holiday town from foreign countries due to the cities language schools.

The Bournemouth Business School International (BBSI) is one of the educational institutes very happy with the amount of foreign students that are taking language courses and other courses at the college. BBSI is one of the countries most popular college  for English language courses.

Many foreign students seeking to learn English are choosing Bournemouth due to it’s location and quality in education.
