Suleyman Seba, who was the club\u2019s honorary chairman, surrendered to his illness at the American Hospital in Istanbul on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Suleyman Seba was born in 1926 in central Anatolian town of Duzce and briefly played Istanbul giant club Besiktas until 1954, when he quit football following an injury. He joined his club in 1957 as a member of the General Assembly and participated in the Board of Directors in 1963.<\/p>\n
In 1984, Seba ran against his rival Mehmet Ustunkaya and defeated him with 85 votes to be elected as the club\u2019s president. In his 16-year record chairmanship, Be\u015fikta\u015f won staggering 21 championships.<\/p>\n
Under his leadership, Be\u015fikta\u015f won five Turkish League, four Presidential, five Turkey Cup, two Prime Ministry and six Turkish Sports Journalists Association championships. Seba also purchased Akaretler club building, Fulya Stadium camp facilities, Bs\u015fiktas Plaza, Pendik and Cilekli facilities and Be\u015fikta\u015f College during his period.<\/p>\n
