{"id":5439,"date":"2014-05-06T11:38:27","date_gmt":"2014-05-06T08:38:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/?p=5439"},"modified":"2022-09-28T20:54:49","modified_gmt":"2022-09-28T19:54:49","slug":"cuban-writer-padura-wins-intl-prize-of-historical-novel-5439","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/cuban-writer-padura-wins-intl-prize-of-historical-novel-5439\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuban Writer Padura wins Intl Prize of Historical Novel"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/leonardo-padura-cuba.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-5440\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/leonardo-padura-cuba-280x220.jpg\" width=\"280\" height=\"220\" title=\"\"><\/a>Cuban writer Leonardo Padura won today with his novel &#8220;Heretics&#8221;, the 10th International Prize of Historical Novel &#8220;Zaragoza City&#8221;, convened by the council of that city, Spain.<\/h1>\n<p>The jury chose &#8220;Heretics&#8221; by majority, a historical atypical novel with a detective novel format, explained Juan Bolea, Coordinator of the prize, with the participation of 41 works.<\/p>\n<p>The jury awarded special mentions to Ex Aequo a Ronin, by Spanish Francisco Narla; Paris, by Britain&#8217;s Edward Rutherford and the House of the Gods of Alabaster, by Spanish Magdalena Lasala.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Heretics&#8221; tells about a police investigation conducted in 2007 on the disappearance of a painting by Rembrandt that had traveled through several places from Havana to Germany in the 17th century.<\/p>\n<p>According to writer Fernando Mart\u00ednez La\u00ednez, besides its originality, the novel is stylistically very well accomplished, criterion shared by other members of the jury at a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>Padura, National Prize of Literature of Cuba, uses a character used in his detective novels, detective Mario Conde.
