A domestic Continental flight could easily be carrying 160 people. $27,500 multiplied by 160 passengers makes it a $4.4 million fine.<\/p>\n<p>James Brennan is visiting Sacramento from Austin.  He says, &#8220;That&#8217;s a bit outrageous. Our economy, the way it&#8217;s going, that doesn&#8217;t even seem feasible.&#8221;  Air traveler Stephanie Marquez explains, &#8220;I would almost rather have them cancel the flight and then you can take another flight instead of having been delayed that long because then you can make other arrangements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Making other arrangements isn&#8217;t always easy, though.  It might be hard to get on another flight.  You could also get stuck in the airport overnight or need to get a hotel room.
