{"id":2436,"date":"2010-01-30T16:04:25","date_gmt":"2010-01-30T14:04:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/?p=2436"},"modified":"2022-09-28T20:57:43","modified_gmt":"2022-09-28T19:57:43","slug":"southwest-airlines-takes-wi-fi-fleetwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/southwest-airlines-takes-wi-fi-fleetwide\/","title":{"rendered":"Southwest Airlines takes Wi-Fi fleetwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Southwest Airlines Co. said Friday it will begin installation of Wi-Fi equipment on its airplanes in the second quarter and hopes to finish within two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/southwest_airlines.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2437\" title=\"Southwest Airlines takes Wi-Fi fleetwide \" src=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/southwest_airlines-280x220.jpg\" alt=\"Southwest Airlines takes Wi-Fi fleetwide \" width=\"280\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a>&#8220;We expect to install equipment on around 15 aircraft per month initially, with the goal of increasing that number to 25 aircraft a month as we ramp up the process,&#8221; Southwest executive Dave Ridley wrote Friday on the carrier&#8217;s Nuts About Southwest blog.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With this schedule, we estimate that our full fleet of more than 540 planes will be outfitted with Wi-Fi service by early 2012,&#8221; said Ridley, senior vice president of marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Ridley said on the Southwest blog that the company will decide on pricing in the second quarter of 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The Dallas-based carrier is using the technology from Row 44 Inc., a Westlake Village, Calif., company.
