{"id":1987,"date":"2009-12-14T14:40:43","date_gmt":"2009-12-14T12:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/?p=1987"},"modified":"2009-12-14T14:41:05","modified_gmt":"2009-12-14T12:41:05","slug":"christmas-strikes-british-airways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/christmas-strikes-british-airways\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas strikes loom for British Airways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>British Airways could round off its \u201cannus horribilus\u201d mired in industrial action.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/british-airways.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1989\" title=\"Christmas strikes loom for British Airways\" src=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/british-airways-280x220.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas strikes loom for British Airways\" width=\"280\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a>More than 12,000 cabin crew could strike over the Christmas period in protest over job losses and changes to work practices.<\/p>\n<p>A yes vote would pave the way for industrial action at any time from December 21, creating chaos for both the airline and passengers during one of the busiest weeks of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The prospect of action grew after talks between BA and leaders of workers union Unite broke down last week.<\/p>\n<p>Last year the airline carried 1.6 million people over the Christmas break. Any industrial action would mean the cancellation of flights, wrecking passengers\u2019 travel plans.<\/p>\n<p>Strike would also come as a bitter financial blow to cash-strapped BA.
