{"id":1077,"date":"2009-09-17T13:00:52","date_gmt":"2009-09-17T10:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/?p=1077"},"modified":"2009-09-17T13:36:09","modified_gmt":"2009-09-17T10:36:09","slug":"hotel-scheme-protest-goes-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/hotel-scheme-protest-goes-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Hotel scheme protest goes online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/tarn-end-house.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1078\" title=\"Hotel scheme protest goes online\" src=\"http:\/\/www.turizmtatilseyahat.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/tarn-end-house.jpg\" alt=\"Hotel scheme protest goes online\" width=\"226\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a>More than 250 people have joined an online campaign against plans to turn a former hotel beside a Cumbrian beauty spot into 15 luxury homes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Citadel Estates wants to convert and extend the former Tarn End House Hotel at Talkin Tarn near Brampton.<\/p>\n<p>The Save Talkin Tarn group, created on social networking site Facebook, said the plans would &#8220;ruin&#8221; the area.<\/p>\n<p>The developer said the scheme was in the public interest as a new boat house for a local rowing club would be built.<\/p>\n<p>Alan Sykes, who created the Facebook group, said the plans would &#8220;destroy&#8221; the area&#8217;s beauty and ambiance.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;It is essentially planting a small village in open countryside.<br \/>\n&#8220;This is 15 houses on less than half an acre of land in the middle of a beauty spot and it is bound to cause disruption and disturbance to an otherwise lovely and tranquil place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The site, which overlooks the Talkin Tarn country park, was been sold to the developer by Carlisle City Council for \u00a3450,000 earlier this year.<br \/>\nThe plans are expected to go before the council&#8217;s planning committee on 2 October.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #f00;\">Error, group does not exist!
