Presidents Arrive in BelarusRussian Pesident Vladimir Putin arrived  in Belarus to attend the top-level summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC).

Putin will fulfil an agenda in parallel to the events, to exchange with the heads of State and Government of the member countries of the CIS and the economic structure of integration in the post-soviet space, as presidential Advisor Yuri Ushakov announced.

The Belarusian public television also reported the arrival at the international airport of Minsk of the presidents of Armenia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

According to the program, the presidents of the 11 member States will analyze the prospects of extending regional integration within the Single Economic Space and the EAEC, as well as within the Customs Union (2012), composed of Russian, Belarus and Kazakhstan in its first stage.

Host president Alexander Lukashenko stated in the meeting that besides the integration processes within the CIS, they would work on the draft agreement for the Eurasian Economic Union, the setting up of which has been planned for 2015.

He said that the Belarusian presidency in the community is not by chance and answers to the interest and attention paid by the country to the integration process in the common post-soviet space, he said.

Another point of the economic agenda is related to extension of the Customs Union and the interest of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to join that trade mechanism.
