Jumeirah signs deal to manage new Maldives hotelJumeirah Group, the Dubai-based hospitality company, said on Wednesday it had been appointed to manage a luxury hotel in the Maldives.

The five star property – in Gaafu Alifu Atoll – is the group’s second hotel in the Maldives, bringing the total number of properties under development or in operation by Jumeirah to 42.

The 36-villa resort, named Jumeirah Meradhoo, is located on an uninhabited island with 16 villas forming water village separated from the main island by 1km of coral reef.

The resort will also feature a dive centre, three restaurants and a spa.
