Budapest Spring Festival 2012

Budapest celebrates its 32nd Spring Festival from March 16 to March 26, 2012.

This annual festival is the largest cultural event in Hungary with the best from classical music, opera, jazz and folk music. The program is very diverse – besides classical music and jazz concerts, there are theatre performances, film screenings, open-air programs and other festival-type events.

Artists from all over the world fill more than 50 venues across the city. The Budapest Opera will premier Arabella, the Papp László Sport Arena will welcome the famous Moiseyev Dance Company from Russia, the Palace of Arts will feature a series of classical concerts and several plays are on the repertoire at the Hungarian National Theatre.

It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know Budapest’s cultural side. The Budapest Spring Festival also celebrates the 131th anniversary of a great Hungarian musician, Béla Bartók, with a concert by the National Philharmonic Orchestra on March 25th, in the Palace of Arts.
