Plovdiv has the first audio guide in Bulgaria, initially available in English, Russian and Bulgarian.

“We will add Greek and Turkish, the most spoken languages by tourists in Plovdiv. Turkish tourists have been number one visitors for the last 10 years in the city of Plovdiv. Number two are Greek tourists,” said Mayor Ivan Totev.

The guide is combined with a map showing the route in the city, which includes 25 sites for now. The tour starts from the Roman stadium and continues through the old city, including the Small Basilica, the East Gate and the street of crafts.

According to Focus Radio, apart from the sites administered by the municipality, for the first time this tourism product includes an exhibition about the Armenian community and private partners in order to promote the cultural heritage of Plovdiv. The guide costs EUR 17 for a day, including three tickets – for the Small Basilica, the Armenian museum and a private gallery.
